Despite of the interesting and busy schedule of the of the 28th Winter Universiade, Dr. Jeno Kamuti CIFP President had the oppotunity in Almaty to negotiate about important topics related to the future of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP). Among others, he met Mr. Oleg Matytsin, International University Sports Federation (FISU) President; the President of the Taipei 2017 29th Summer Universiade Organising Committee and the Regional Program Director of the UNESCO.

„I had a fruitful negotiation with President Matytsin about a possible cooperation between the FISU and the CIFP. The two organisations have been partners for years, the CIFP was invited to attend both the Winter and Summer Universiades each year, but now our intention is conclude a stronger cooperation. The organisations both have a clear mission and we decided to work towards our goals with joint forces: promote the spirit of fair play for the youth. Within the frame of this cooperation, CIFP will have more platforms to reach the young athletes. We plan to sign this contract before the Taipei 2017 29th Summer Univerisade.”

From the perspective of the stronger international presence of the CIFP, the meeting with Ms Arina Plokhik, Regional Program Director of the UNESCO was essential. Three additional countries belong to the office of the CIFP founding member UNESCO in Kazakhstan: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. „These countries did not have any kind of fair play committees before, this has to be changed in the future – with the help of the local office of the UNESCO. I am personally very happy with this opportunity, I find it crucial to spread and emphasize the fair play ideal within these countries” – said Dr. Jeno Kamuti.
