Structure
The International Committee for Fair Play founded for an indefinite period in 1963 by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (CIEPSS), UNESCO and the International Federations of Basketball, Football, Rugby and Wrestling is an organisation governed by the French Law. The CIFP, whose headquarters are at Maison du Sport Français in Paris, is recognised by the International Olympic Committee and is the partner of UNESCO.
The International Committee for Fair Play is composed of its Founding Members (International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education, International Sports Press Association, UNESCO and the International Federations of Basketball, Football, Rugby and Wrestling), Ordinary Members, Honorary Members and Contributing Members (Benefactors).
The main legislative body of the
The Council, whose Members (a maximum of 20 persons) are all actively committed to the world of international sport and to the supportof fair play, meets twice a year and adopts Internal Regulations, carries out tasks in accordance with the goals set by the General Assembly, decides on membership applications and, after carefully studying and evaluating the proposals, selects the winners of the fair play awards.
