Grosetto 2013 review: Caironi smashes 100m and 200m T42 world records
Italy's Martina Caironi showed the form that led her to Paralympic gold last summer by smashing the 100m and 200m T42 world records at the fourth IPC Athletics Grand Prix of the year on home soil in Grosetto.
On Saturday (11 May) the 23 year old single leg amputee ran 15.71 in the 100m* to knock 0.16 seconds off her previous best time set last year on her way to London 2012 gold. She will now go into July's IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France as favourite for gold in the event that features her close rival and current world champion Kelly Cartwright of Australia.
