IOC President Thomas Bach congratulated for World Fair Play Day

The International Fair Play Committee announced the International Fair Play Day on 7thSeptember. 

The Fair Play celebration,  launched by 4 international organizations, will be celebrated on the same day every year in the future all around the world. A number of organizations have already joined the initiative, including national Olympic Committees and international sport federations.

Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, congratulated in a separate letter to Jenő Kamuti, President of the CIFP, on the occasion of the sports history event.

’ Dear Jenő,

Please allow me to extend my congratulations to you for your initiative concerning a day dedicated to Fair Play.

The IOC highly appreciates the CIFP support in promoting Fair Play and spreading the Olympic values. Together with the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage, responsible for the Olympic culture and education, we look forward to continuing and enhancing our collaboration in spreading these fundamental ethical principles.

In addition of the International Fair Play Committee, the International Fair Play Day was organized in cooperation with the Panathlon International, European Fair Play Movement and Panathlon Wallonie-Bruxelles.
