Mission Accomplished for CIFP in Buenos Aires
Fair Play Games Proved to Be Popular Among Enthusiastic Young People Participating in Learn & Share at Buenos Aires 2018 YOG.
Following its four previous participation, the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP) carried out another successful fair play education programme at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
This edition of the YOG could be regarded as special as it was the first time the diverse activities of the Learn & Share platform had been open to the general public including thousands of young people.
Sport is an excellent tool for building a better world and effecting positive change in our society. In order to accomplish this mission, the CIFP is dedicated to educating the young generations and spreading the Olympic values among them.
The International Fair Play Committee promoted the spirit of sportsmanship through a wide variety of interactive games and workshop activities during the competition days in Buenos Aires. Besides the great athletes as well as YOG Ambassadors like the South-African Olympic Champion, Chad le Clos and the excellent Young Change-Makers, countless enthusiastic schoolchildren, young people and families visited the CIFP booth.
Through the exciting fair play minigolf, construction of a fair play tower and the “youthful” computer games, to name but a few, the visitors learnt about fair competition, respect, friendship, team spirit, equality, tolerance, care and excellence. The participants in these games not only enjoyed playing but also experienced situations which required sportsmanlike behaviour.
Spreading the word about fair play in Buenos Aires was a great opportunity for the International Fair Play Committee to contribute to the betterment of the world through education.
Thank you Buenos Aires for the excellent event!
