Olympic Ice tested in Sochi

SOCHI, May 15, 2012 - The rink of the new "Iceberg" Skating Palace was opened for test skating after 100 days of preparations. Students of the winter sports school in Sochi, the Olympic champion and Sochi 2014 Ambassador, Tatyana Navka have had the first chance to test the new ice rink. The first test events - the Grand prix figure skating final - will take place at “Iceberg” in December 2012 and in February 2014 the venue will host Olympic competitions in figure skating and short track.

Olympic Torch relay en route to London for a second time

ANCIENT OLYMPIA, May 11, 2012- The Olympic flame began its journey to London with a simple but moving ceremony in Olympia.
Classical actress Ino Menegaki kindled the flame from the rays of the sun in a ritual little changed since the first torch relay in 1936, though it wasn’t entirely without a hitch.

EUROPEAN NOCs GATHER IN BUDAPEST FOR 2012 SEMINAR

Budapest (HUN), 26 April - the 33rd EOC Seminar opened in the Hungarian capital on Thursday afternoon and will run through to Saturday, during which time the European NOCs will exchange points of view on the issues upon which their daily work is based.
Saturday evening the delegates will gather for a farewell dinner at Godollo Castle, Empress Sissi's famous castle, where they will attend the ceremony for the award of the 2012 International Fair Play Committee's Award.

Budapest, 26th April - the EOC Executive Committee convened in the Hungarian capital for their second meeting of the year, on occasion of the Association's 33rd Seminar. Chaired by President Patrick Hickey, the members took stock of the recent ANOC Moscow meetings and discussed various issues of current concern.

GWANGJU, April 16, 2012 - The 2015 Gwangju Universiade Organizing Committee held a Welcome Ceremony for its latest group of student supporters at a grand hall in Gwangju City Hall, April 12. About 800 students from universities in Gwangju and the surrounding Jeollanam-do region attended the ceremony and pledged their efforts to make the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade a success.
