She Runs – in the spirit of Fair Play
The 2nd She Runs program was organized last week by the International School Sport Federation (ISF) on the streets of Brussels. Around 500 girls, aged 13-18, from more than 20 countries around the world took part in this event.
The International Fair Play Committee (CIFP) and the International School Sport Federation (ISF) have been cooperating for many years, thanks to this collaboration, CIFP has its own Fair Play stand at major international ISF-events. The center of the She Runs program was the “Run&Village”, where the girls started and finished the running race and between competition stages they could enjoy a variety of games at the crowded Fair Play stand, participated in the Q&A and with a great pleasure and big smile on their faces they pin on Fair Play badges and put Fair Play bracelets on their hands.
At Fair Play stand we were honoured to welcome Viviane Hoffmann, Deputy Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture in the European Commission; Laurent Petrynka, President of ISF and Benoit Hellings, First Alderman, Alderman of Climate and Sport of Brussels, Yves Le Lostecque and Agata Dziarnowska from the European Commission, alongside other distinguished guests. This age group is still receptive to the new things, so it is very important that they hear about Fair Play and talk about it. In the Run&Village girls were able to to try out sports such as athletics, 3x3 basketball, taekwondo, capoeira and watch a variety show on stage.
