Nilufar Muhiddinova

On 24 October 2014, during the Judo World Junior Championships in Fort Lauderdale (USA) Jean Mwangonde from Malawi and Nilufar Muhiddinova from Turkmenistan were called for contest in the category of under 57 kg. When the referee summoned the athletes, only Muhiddinova entered the mat. After applying the "30-second" rule, she was declared as the winner of the match. However, it turned out a few minutes later that Mwangonde was also prepared for the contest, but due to her inexperience in such high-level competitions, she had been mistakenly waiting for someone to take her to the mat. Muhiddinova immediately understood the situation and despite having been declared the winner of the match, she generously gave another chance to her opponent to fight, thus putting her victory already earned at risk. She proved to be a role model at the age of 17.
