CIFP welcomes the decision of postponement

The International Fair Play Committee welcomes the decision, as the health of the athletes, the officials, the journalists and the spectators is more important as anything else. 

Dear Athletes, Sports Leaders and all Sport-Fans,

It has become certain today that the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 will not be held at the original time because of the health situation in the world. 

The International Fair Play Committee welcomes the decision, as the health of the athletes, the officials, the journalists and the spectators is more important as anything else. 

With the maximum one year postponement, besides the health aspects of the spirit of fair play prevails much better. 

We congratulate to IOC President, Mr. Thomas Bach and his colleagues, and to Mr. Abe Shinzo, Prime Minister of Japan and to the Organizing Committee to make this responsible but difficult decision!
