Honouring Olympic Values: 130 Years of the Hungarian Olympic Committee

In 2025, the Hungarian Olympic Committee celebrated its 130th anniversary, marking more than a century of commitment to the Olympic ideals of excellence, respect, and fair play.

The jubilee gala, held in Budapest, welcomed leading figures of the international Olympic movement. Among the distinguished guests was Thomas Bach, Honorary President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), whose presence underlined the global recognition of Hungary’s Olympic legacy.

The celebration was also attended by Juan Antonio Samaranch Salisachs, IOC Vice-President, alongside national and international sports leaders and former Olympic champions. Their participation highlighted the strong international ties and enduring values shared within the Olympic family.
