Important and touching recognition for our Honorary President by the French Minister for Sport.

Dr. Jenő Kamuti, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee’s Fair Play Committee, Permanent Honorary President of the International Fair Play Committee, Athlete of the Nation, and Honorary Member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, has been awarded a prestigious award by Marie Barsacq, former French Minister for Sport and one of the senior officials of the Paris Olympic Organising Committee.
The Gold Medal for Commitment to Youth, Sport and Civil Society was presented by Jonathan Lacôte, Ambassador of France, at a ceremony held in Budapest.

Among those present at the event were Pál Schmitt, former President of Hungary, Athlete of the Nation, and Honorary President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, as well as Zsolt Csampa, President of the Hungarian Fencing Federation and member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee.
“Jenő Kamuti, who won Olympic silver medals in foil fencing in 1968 and 1972, has played a defining role in Hungarian-French sporting relations since the end of his competitive career, notably through the development of partnerships and exchange programmes between the Hungarian and French fencing federations. As an outstanding figure in Hungarian sports diplomacy, he also served for more than twenty years as President of the International Fair Play Committee.”
