Fair Play reception and Award presentation in the Olympic Club
The International Fair Play Committee held a reception in the Olympic Club in Paris. The highlights of the event was Sakura Yosozumi's Fair Play Award, which was presented to her by H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco, and Cheche Vidal's "Fair competition" book presentation. H.S.H. Princess Nora of Liechtenstein greeted the guests on behalf of IOC President, Thomas Bach.
As we remember, the Fair Play Award of the Tokyo Olympics was given to the skateboarding girls who lifted up their partner who fell during the competition. The presentation of the Award took place last year on the Olympic Day in Lausanne (article here), where Sakura Yosozumi could not attend due to other commitments, therefore, the Japanese athlete received the award in Paris, which was presented to him by H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco.
The reception also featured the presentation of the book written by Cheche Vidal, a former Olympian footballer, on the ethics of sport. Juan Jose "Cheche" Vidal Noya is a retired Venezuelan football defender who was a member of the Venezuelan Olympic soccer team at the 1980 Summer Olympics. He was the 1979 Venezuela Footballer of the Year and was the World Cup USA Vice President in charge of technology at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
CIFP is proud and grateful that the reception was honored with the participation of many IOC members, international sports leaders and distinguished guests. Participated, without the need for completeness, Yuki Ota, Spyros Capralos IOC members, Pal Schmitt, former IOC member, Angelita Teo, Director of Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage and Frédérique Jamolli, Head of IOC International Cultural Affairs, Jochen Farber, Chief of the Lausanne Office of the Olympic Channel, H.E. Georg von Habsburg, Ambassador of Hungary To France and the Council Members of the International Fair Play Committee.
