The FIE Fair Play Council was represented again this year at the FIE Junior & Cadet Fencing World Championships. This event, which took place in the first days of April, was hosted in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Following the tradition of previous years, this year there was a Fair Play stand at the Championships.

Steven Ungerleider, Fair Play Awardee, founding trustee of Foundation for Global Sports Development, the author, sports psychologist and co-founder of Sidewinder Films, the label behind documentaries about the USA Gymnastics scandal, the 1972 Munich Olympics and Arthur Ashe, has died. He was 73.

President of the International Fair Play Committee, Dr. Jenő Kamuti, visited the UNESCO Headquarter in Paris and held forward-looking talks with Philipp Müller-Wirth, Chief of the Sport Section.

This weekend Mme Erika Dienstl was recognized by the International Fair Play Committee with a special Fair Play recognition for her lifelong commitment to excellence and leadership. The award was presented at her home on Stolberg by Sunil Sabharwal CIFP Secretary General.
