The 2024 Fair Play Awards Have Been Presented in Hungary

Six sports figures were honored with lifetime achievement awards – among them Csaba Hegedüs, the wrestler, coach and sports official who won Hungary’s 100th Olympic gold medal – and a total of twenty people received awards for sportsmanship at the Hungarian Fair Play Awards Gala.

 

The President of the International Fair Play Committee, Sunil Sabharwal, congratulated the award recipients in a video message and highlighted that the Hungarian committee is one of the oldest member organizations, carrying out important work in promoting and spreading the spirit of fair play.

It was a touching moment at the gala when, Jenő Kamuti presented a special International Fair Play Award to Gábor Deregán, Secretary of the Hungarian Fair Play Committee, in recognition of his dedicated work for fair play over the past 13 years.
