Presidential meeting at the FISU World University Games 2025
The leaders of the International University Sports Federation /FISU/ and the International Fair Play Committee /CIFP/ met and discussed the development of joint cooperation on the occasion of the FISU World University Games 2025.

The 2025 FISU Summer World University Games, officially the XXXII Summer World University Games and also known as Rhine-Ruhr 2025, is a multi-sport event being held from 16 to 27 July 2025, in five cities in Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region and Berlin as an outlying venue in Germany. The region previously hosted the 1989 Summer Universiade in Duisburg, who will also host sports during these games.
The newly elected President of CIFP, Sunil Sabharwal, and the also recently appointed Secretary General of FISU, Matthias Remund introduced themselves officially at the meeting. President Sabharwal thanked for the kind invitation and the joint cooperation so far. President of FISU, Leonz Eder emphasized that FISU continues to consider Fair Play and its promotion among competitors and coaches to be very important.
We saw how true this is at the Opening Ceremony, where an exemplary Fair Play act was presented in a separate, more than 2-minute video, and its significance and meaning were explained verbally for thousands of athletes and spectators in the stadium and online followers. The meeting was attended by the Deuty Secretary General of FISU, Fernando Parrente, who is the Director of FISU Healthy Campus program also, and CIFP Executive Director, Gabor Deregan.
Finally, the meeting discussed the renewal and expansion of future cooperation.
