Uni-Birds’ group established to bolster support for the Gwangju Universiade

GWANGJU, April 16, 2012 - The 2015 Gwangju Universiade Organizing Committee held a Welcome Ceremony for its latest group of student supporters at a grand hall in Gwangju City Hall, April 12. About 800 students from universities in Gwangju and the surrounding Jeollanam-do region attended the ceremony and pledged their efforts to make the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade a success.

Tokyo, 12 Apr. 2012 – British Prime Minister David Cameron met with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda on April 10 in a bid to strengthen their strategic partnership based on its shared values. The two Prime Ministers offered their words of encouragement to each other during the meeting, with the UK also wishing the Japanese capital well in their bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.

LONDON, April 10, 2012 - The world renowned Boat Race, with Oxford and Cambridge Universities competing for the 158th time on the River Thames was interrupted by a protester who appeared in the water  between the crews.
 

The action by an Australian named as Trenton Oldfield led to the race being stopped and then being resumed after a significant delay.
