Dr. Jenő Kamuti, the Honorary President of the International Fair Play Commission, personally presented the World Fair Play Award to Thomas Bach, the outgoing President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), in Lausanne.

American Sunil Sabharwal is poised to usher in a new era for the Fair Play movement. On May 19, the inaugural World Fair Play Day, as recognised by the United Nations, the former U.S. board member to the International Monetary Fund was elected unopposed as the fifth President of the International Fair Play Committee.

The young Czech fencer, Lumir Kral, received the “Jacques Rogge World Fair Play Award for the Youth" in Budapest. 

The UN designated May 19, 2025, as “World Fair Play Day, commencing 2025, to promote the practice of sport with a spirit of friendship, solidarity, tolerance and inclusion, and without discrimination.
